They say that incredible suffering can sometimes bring about change in our lives. For me it was watching a beautiful 9 year old girl die in December of 2007. The cancer that took her life in 8 short months spared her no indignity.

Death visited many people close to me in 2007 and 2008 and once again I watched parents endure perhaps humanities most tragic of all events.

The illuminating light of these events showed me a very egotistical person who lacked inner Joy, Happiness and Contentment, but most of all who lacked Gratitude for the life that he had been given.

If its true that we create our own Heaven or Hell on our earthly journey then I had created Hell and as a result my own painful reality.

I started to go to yoga because I had heard good things about it, and at the studio that I practiced on a bookshelf was a card that said "Five Books that Changed Our Lives."

They say that when the student is ready the teacher will appear...

Of birds I know that they have wings to fly with,

of fish that they have fins to swim with,

of wild beasts that they have feet to run with.

For feet there are traps,

for fins nets,

for wings arrows.

But who knows how dragons surmount wind and cloud into heaven?

This day I have seen Lao-tzu and he is a dragon.
